Danpol
Copolyester for coatings and varnishes
Saturated, linear and solvent-soluble copolyester granules known for their high flexibility, excellent metal and plastic adhesion and great chemical resistance.
They are often used as binders in coatings and adhesives.
Composition: Saturated, linear copolyesters with medium to high molecular weight.
Basic adhesion properties: Very good adhesion to metal surfaces or plastic substrates.
Other properties: high hardness, good flexibility (suitable for deep drawing), sterilization resistance, very good scratch resistance.
Formulation: Soluble in organic solvents; often crosslinked with amino resins or blocked polyisocyanates for enamelling.
Examples of applications:
- Coil coating, can coating, can coatings, inner can coatings
- Primers and varnishes for metal
- Packaging: Heat sealing varnishes, pre-print primers and flexible packaging printing inks
- Adhesives: Hot laminating adhesives and special industrial coatings that require deep drawability.
In the following overview you will find an extensive series with different melting ranges, supplied as granules, blocks and solutions.
The order is based on the glass transition temperature (DSC) from low to high.
